V úterý 26. prosince zarmoutila hokejový svět zpráva o odchodu jednoho z legendárních hráčů Toronta Maple Leafs Johnnyho Bowera.
Během šedesátých let dokázal Bower čtyřikrát pozvednout nad hlavu slavný pohár a získat Vezina Trophy pro nejlepšího brankáře soutěže. V roce 1976 byl uveden do Hockey Hall of Fame.
Členové hokejové komunity začali okamžitě po zveřejnění smutné zprávy vpomínat na legendu NHL a prostřednictvím sociálních sítí vyjadřovat své kondolence.
